Symptoms is built to work without collecting anything about you. There is no account, no server database, and no analytics. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.
What stays on this device
Every symptom, check-in, note and medication you log is written to your browser's local storage, on your device. It never leaves that browser unless you export a backup yourself. We have no database and no way to see your entries.
What we don't collect
Backups you create
Settings lets you export a backup file and import it later. That file is created and downloaded directly by your browser, not through a server. Keeping it safe (and private) is up to you, the same as any other file on your device.
Deleting your data
Settings has a "Delete all data" action that clears everything Symptoms has stored in this browser, immediately and permanently. Because nothing is kept anywhere else, that action is the whole deletion process, since there is no separate copy on a server left to remove.
Hosting & standard web logs
This site is served over HTTPS by a standard web host, which may keep basic connection logs (like IP address and request time) for security and reliability, the same as any website you visit. That logging happens at the infrastructure level, not in the app itself, and is never linked to anything you log in Symptoms.
Children
Symptoms doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, children included, because it doesn't collect information from anyone at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. Since nothing is collected, updates here are expected to be rare.
